• Book your Kigali car rental for the night before your permit date — you need to be in Musanze the evening before, not arriving the morning of
• Confirm departure from Kigali no later than 2:00-3:00 PM on the day before your trek
• For a single-day gorilla trip from Kigali, you need a 4:45 AM departure — an overnight in Musanze is strongly recommended
